Weight loss and eating disorders
Hypnosis for Weight Loss in Zurich – for Emotional Eating and Eating Disorders
For food cravings, unhealthy eating patterns, binge eating, and bulimia.
On the Path to Your Ideal Weight
Through hypnosis, we specifically address the unconscious reactions and associations that may influence your eating behavior. We also take into account distressing feelings and emotional triggers associated with eating. This allows old associations to be broken and new, more helpful reactions to develop.
In addition to emotional and subconscious triggers, we also look at your diet, exercise, and daily habits.
The goal is for you to develop a more relaxed relationship with food, feel more comfortable in your own body again, and get closer to your personal ideal weight or the weight you’d like to be.

Weight Loss
Weight loss involves a combination of various factors: diet, exercise, habits, metabolism, and even the way we deal with stress and emotions.
Maybe you've known for a long time what would be good for you—and yet you still find it hard to stick to your resolutions in the long run. This is exactly where unconscious habits and emotional associations can play an important role.
In hypnosis, we work with these automatic reactions and patterns. At the same time, we take your diet, exercise, and everyday life into account. The goal is to make changes that suit you and your life and can be integrated into your daily routine over the long term.
The goal is for you to become more mindful of your eating habits, reach your personal ideal weight step by step, and maintain it over the long term.
Binge Eating
Binge eating can manifest as recurrent binge-eating episodes during which it is difficult to consciously control one’s eating. Stress, inner tension, distressing emotions, or highly restrictive eating habits can further contribute to such patterns.
Eating is often linked to certain feelings or situations. In hypnosis, we work with the emotional triggers, subconscious reactions, and associations that may influence your eating behavior. The goal is to change stressful emotional patterns and develop new, more helpful responses.
At the same time, we also take your diet, your habits, and your daily routine into account so that these changes can become a permanent part of your daily life.
The goal is for you to regain a sense of security when it comes to eating, and for the binge eating episodes to gradually disappear.
Bulimia
Bulimia is an eating disorder characterized by recurring binge eating episodes that may alternate with compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting or the use of laxatives. It is often associated with intense inner tension, distressing emotions, shame, or a difficult relationship with one’s own body and with food.
Hypnosis can be used as a complementary tool to help address emotional triggers, automatic reactions, and unconscious associations that influence eating behavior. Together, we’ll work to change stressful patterns and develop new, more helpful responses.
Topics such as self-image, self-esteem, and coping with distressing emotions can also be part of hypnotherapy.
The goal is for you to develop greater confidence in dealing with food and your emotions, and for your bulimic behavior patterns to gradually diminish.
* For anorexia, I recommend specialized treatment; I do not use hypnosis to treat this condition.

FAQ
Who is hypnotherapy suitable for?
Hypnotherapy is suitable for many people. The key factors are trust, openness, and a willingness to actively engage with the process. How easily and deeply someone experiences hypnosis varies from person to person. During the free consultation, we’ll determine whether hypnosis and my approach are a good fit for you and your needs.
How effective is hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy has been scientifically studied and is recognized in various medical and therapeutic fields. It can be very effective because it draws on automatic responses and unconscious patterns that often occur outside of conscious control in everyday life.
Many of my clients report feeling a noticeable sense of relief after just the first session. How quickly and how significantly things change depends on the issue at hand and the individual’s personal response.
What kinds of issues can hypnosis help with?
Hypnosis can be used to help address many emotional, mental, and physical response patterns—such as anxiety, inner restlessness, stress, sleep problems, or harmful habits. We’ll determine whether hypnosis is right for your specific situation during a free consultation.
How does hypnosis feel?
Hypnosis is a pleasant state of physical relaxation and focused attention. You may be familiar with similar moments from daydreaming, reading, or just before falling asleep.
During the session, your body may feel heavy or light. You’ll remain responsive, aware of everything that’s happening, and in control at all times. How intensely you experience hypnosis varies from person to person—a specific sensation is not necessary for it to be effective.
How do I prepare for the hypnosis session, and how does it work?
It’s important that you genuinely want to make a change and are willing to commit to the process. Try to come well-rested, and make sure to eat and drink enough beforehand. During the session, you should be open to the experience and not under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. Wearing comfortable clothing will also help you feel at ease.
Please set aside up to three hours for the first session. We’ll start with an in-depth conversation to discuss your situation, your concerns, and your goals, and to address any questions you may have. Afterward, I’ll explain how hypnosis works and what to expect during the session.
After that, I’ll guide you into a state of hypnosis. During this process, we’ll work on the unconscious reactions and patterns associated with your issue and reinforce new, more helpful responses.
The next two sessions will each last about 1 to 1.5 hours. We’ll discuss the changes you’ve experienced so far, delve deeper into the hypnotic work, and help you apply what you’ve learned to your daily life.
Do I lose control during hypnosis?
No. You remain in control at all times during hypnosis. You’re responsive, aware of what’s happening, and can stop the process at any time. The more you’re able to open up to hypnosis and let go, the more effectively we can address your specific concern.
So you're not giving up control—rather, the goal is to ultimately regain more control over your automatic reactions, feelings, and your life.
Does a hypnotherapist replace a doctor?
I would like to explicitly point out that hypnotherapy is not intended to—and cannot—replace a visit to the doctor. A hypnotherapist does not make diagnoses and is not authorized to prescribe medication to a client or to change the dosage.
Hypnosis can also be used in conjunction with conventional or complementary treatments.
