When the body suddenly sounds the alarm

A panic attack is a physical reaction to a feeling of threat. The heart races, the breathing accelerates, the muscles tense up. Many sufferers are convinced that something is wrong with their heart or circulation. But medically, everything is usually fine. The body is simply reacting to an alarm signal that has been triggered in the subconscious.

This reaction used to save lives. In times of real danger, it was essential for survival. Today, however, this emergency program sometimes kicks in even though there is no threat. The body cannot tell whether something is really dangerous or just an old memory.

Why the mind doesn't stand a chance

During a panic attack, automatic body reactions take control. The mind tries to remain calm, but the subconscious sends a strong signal: danger.

At such moments, it is of little help to think logically or calm down. The body is already in the middle of an alarm reaction. Only when the nervous system recognizes that the situation is over can it return to a state of safety and calm.

What really happens on the inside

The autonomic nervous system automatically controls all vital functions: Heartbeat, breathing, digestion, temperature. When it switches to alarm, the sympathetic nervous system takes over. The body prepares itself for flight or fight.

If this condition persists for too long or is triggered again and again, a cycle of anxiety and loss of control develops. The body reacts and you are frightened by the symptoms. The anxiety grows and the body reacts even more strongly.

This is how the fear of fear arises, one of the most common consequences of recurring panic attacks.

How hypnosis brings the body back to safety

This cycle can be gently interrupted in hypnosis. While the body relaxes deeply, the mind remains alert and focused. This allows the subconscious to relearn how to react differently to old stimuli.

Hypnosis helps to reprogram the inner alarm system. The body understands again what safety means. Many people experience how the physical symptoms of panic gradually dissolve. The breathing becomes calmer, the pulse more even, the inner tension subsides.

In my practice, I see time and again how powerful the change can be when the body and subconscious are in harmony again. Most clients notice a positive change after the first session, which we then deepen and further optimize in subsequent sessions.

When security comes from within

Healing does not mean that fear will never arise again, but that it will no longer dominate us.

When the body has learned to remain calm in stressful situations, the fear of fear disappears.

Confidence returns and with it the freedom to enjoy life carefree again.
