Do you know that?
Does the mere thought of a blood test or vaccination trigger palpitations, dizziness or even fainting? Many people have a fear of injections, experts call it syringe phobia, a form of specific phobia. This means that your body reacts with a massive fear response, even though objectively there is no real danger.
A case from my practice
One client told me that he had suffered from an extreme phobia of syringes all his life. Even simple blood tests often ended in him fainting. Sometimes he even had to be sedated with medication before treatment was possible.
After our first hypnosis session, he wrote to me with relief that he had survived both a blood test and a vaccination in a sitting position on the same day, without fainting or panicking. He was so relieved that he immediately celebrated this success with a glass of champagne.
This was followed a few weeks later by even more impressive feedback: During a procedure involving several injections in the neck, he was able to remain calm, watch and master the situation confidently without his old panic taking over. His conclusion: "Simply wonderful!"
Why fears arise
Fears are not fundamentally a bad thing. They are a natural protective mechanism. Our subconscious has the task of ensuring our survival. In some situations, it therefore develops protective programs such as flight, avoidance or freezing.
The problem is that these programs are not always useful. Experiences from the first years of life, often nothing dramatic, can lead to the subconscious storing a certain reaction. If further experiences are added later, the pattern is reinforced until it becomes a massive fear reaction.
Why root cause analysis is crucial
Many methods try to dampen symptoms, for example through distraction, breathing exercises or medication. This can help in the short term, but the underlying cause remains.
With cause-oriented hypnosis, we look directly into the subconscious: Where did the pattern originate? What experiences have shaped the fear response? In the trance, these old protective programs can be gently released and replaced by new, strengthening reactions.
Hypnosis as an opportunity
With over 2,000 sessions under my belt, I have seen people change their fears and phobias step by step. Whether it's fear of injections, panic attacks or inner blockages, hypnosis offers the opportunity to work on the cause and thus regain more freedom and serenity in everyday life.
Injection anxiety is not a sign of weakness, but an indication that your subconscious wants to protect you, albeit sometimes in an obstructive way. The good news is that patterns can change.
