Physical Symptoms and Addictive Behavior
Hypnosis for Pain and Addictive Behavior in Zurich
Relieve pain and leave addiction behind.
Pain and addictive behavior can severely limit your life. Perhaps you’d like to finally reduce your pain or leave an addiction behind—and at the same time, you realize that simply making conscious resolutions isn’t enough to bring about lasting change.
With hypnosis, we work at the level of the subconscious mind. In doing so, we take into account automatic reactions, emotional triggers, and deeply ingrained associations that can influence the perception of pain or addictive behavior.
When it comes to pain, we work to change how pain is perceived and processed and to reduce the burden it causes. When it comes to addictive behavior, we address the triggers and internal associations that maintain cravings and habitual responses.
The goal is to provide noticeable pain relief and leave addictive behavior behind for good—for greater freedom and a better quality of life in your daily routine.

Pain
Pain is an important signal from our bodies. However, in cases of prolonged or recurring pain, the pain response can increasingly take on a life of its own and severely interfere with daily life. Stress, tension, and emotional strain can also intensify the sensation of pain.
Hypnosis can be used to specifically influence the perception and processing of pain. We work with the subconscious reactions and associations linked to your pain and help your body respond differently to the pain stimuli you’ve experienced so far.
This isn't about simply "thinking the pain away." Rather, we use the brain's ability to perceive and process pain in different ways.
The goal is to significantly reduce pain intensity and regain greater freedom of movement and quality of life—ultimately leading to a daily life with significantly less pain or, in the best-case scenario, no pain at all.
Note: Recurring or persistent pain should first be evaluated by a doctor.
Addictive Behavior
An addiction doesn't simply stem from a lack of willpower. Often, certain situations, emotions, stress, or deeply ingrained habits are linked to the craving. That is precisely why the conscious desire for change alone is often not enough.
Through hypnosis, we specifically address the subconscious triggers, emotional associations, and automatic reactions that can perpetuate addictive behavior. The goal is to change these associations so that the cravings lose their intensity and new, self-determined responses become possible.
This can be used, for example, to help people quit smoking or address other forms of addictive behavior. We’ll discuss which approach makes the most sense for your situation during a personal consultation.
The goal is for you to break free from your addiction and leave it behind for good—so you can enjoy more freedom and self-determination in your daily life.

FAQ
Who is hypnotherapy suitable for?
Hypnotherapy is suitable for many people. The key factors are trust, openness, and a willingness to actively engage with the process. How easily and deeply someone experiences hypnosis varies from person to person. During the free consultation, we’ll determine whether hypnosis and my approach are a good fit for you and your needs.
How effective is hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy has been scientifically studied and is recognized in various medical and therapeutic fields. It can be very effective because it draws on automatic responses and unconscious patterns that often occur outside of conscious control in everyday life.
Many of my clients report feeling a noticeable sense of relief after just the first session. How quickly and how significantly things change depends on the issue at hand and the individual’s personal response.
What kinds of issues can hypnosis help with?
Hypnosis can be used to help address many emotional, mental, and physical response patterns—such as anxiety, inner restlessness, stress, sleep problems, or harmful habits. We’ll determine whether hypnosis is right for your specific situation during a free consultation.
How does hypnosis feel?
Hypnosis is a pleasant state of physical relaxation and focused attention. You may be familiar with similar moments from daydreaming, reading, or just before falling asleep.
During the session, your body may feel heavy or light. You’ll remain responsive, aware of everything that’s happening, and in control at all times. How intensely you experience hypnosis varies from person to person—a specific sensation is not necessary for it to be effective.
How do I prepare for the hypnosis session, and how does it work?
It’s important that you genuinely want to make a change and are willing to commit to the process. Try to come well-rested, and make sure to eat and drink enough beforehand. During the session, you should be open to the experience and not under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. Wearing comfortable clothing will also help you feel at ease.
Please set aside up to three hours for the first session. We’ll start with an in-depth conversation to discuss your situation, your concerns, and your goals, and to address any questions you may have. Afterward, I’ll explain how hypnosis works and what to expect during the session.
After that, I’ll guide you into a state of hypnosis. During this process, we’ll work on the unconscious reactions and patterns associated with your issue and reinforce new, more helpful responses.
The next two sessions will each last about 1 to 1.5 hours. We’ll discuss the changes you’ve experienced so far, delve deeper into the hypnotic work, and help you apply what you’ve learned to your daily life.
Do I lose control during hypnosis?
No. You remain in control at all times during hypnosis. You’re responsive, aware of what’s happening, and can stop the process at any time. The more you’re able to open up to hypnosis and let go, the more effectively we can address your specific concern.
So you're not giving up control—rather, the goal is to ultimately regain more control over your automatic reactions, feelings, and your life.
Does a hypnotherapist replace a doctor?
I would like to explicitly point out that hypnotherapy is not intended to—and cannot—replace a visit to the doctor. A hypnotherapist does not make diagnoses and is not authorized to prescribe medication to a client or to change the dosage.
Hypnosis can also be used in conjunction with conventional or complementary treatments.
